Three weeks in and just three days left! Today’s theme is big and bold so I’m sharing the biggest painting I have ever done (though still small compared to other more established artists!). I’m working myself up to bigger paintings gradually 🙂 Here’s the link to the themed art trail https://youtu.be/7v5YqmwKT2w

Tranquil Turtle 2 oil on stretched canvas 60 x 50cm I love all wild-life but especially water creatures. I was an keen swimmer as a child and considered learning scuba diving when younger, so I could see first hand the amazing habitats brought to life by David Attenborough’s nature programs. Sadly a lot of those habitats are under threat now due to our pollution, plastic waste and fishing methods. Some turtles are already endangered 😢 I love the silver frame that came from Bramptonframing.com - it was a bit if a risk ordering on-line but they have a great mock up service where you can upload an image and try out different frames. Highly recommend them if you’re in the UK and in need of a framer - they turnaround their bespoke frames pretty quickly too compared to other services I’ve tried. Very quiet day at Artweeks yesterday, hardly surprising due to all the wind and rain! Still, I sold another painting and sold out of my bird card packs - good job I have more on order arriving today! Here’s the link again in case you wanted to order some yourself (lots of other designs also available). https://lovefromtheartist.com/Artists/wallingford/tracy-lester

Can you believe it has been nearly three weeks since the beginning of Artweeks? Just 4 days left. I’m open again at 11am today and am expecting a few visitors over the next few days. Weather forecast isn't good though!

Today’s theme is Patterns and Shapes, and you can view the themed art trail here: https://youtu.be/aLjENAHBrG8, it features some gorgeous jewellery and pottery. One disadvantage of being an exhibitor is I’m missing out on seeing all these lovely things!

Poppies in a red jug 12x12” oil on canvas panel

So here is the nearest painting I have with any pattern in it, though really all paintings are just a collection of shapes in different colours!

I loved this chequered table cloth and bright red jug, but the pattern turned out to be quite challenging to paint! I decided to give it a looser style so all those lines didn’t need to be so exact. The jug isn’t mine, sadly, but I really really want one! As you know red is my favourite colour ❤️❤️❤️

To celebrate the last few days of Artweeks I am offering £20 off the shipping costs for any of my Artworks until the end of the festival - that’s effectively free shipping for all of my smaller pieces 🍾🥂. So please go ahead and grab yourself a bargain before someone else snaps it up this weekend!

Todays’s theme is Portraiture, Pets and People so I’m sharing a wall of paintings done during lockdown with Sky TV’s Portrait Artist of the Week community program. You can view the themed video trail from Artweeks here: https://youtu.be/DEP4AgCgF1Q

The program was broadcast over social media on Sundays during lockdown, with an Artist painting a famous sitter live over 4 hours, each within their own home. Artists from all over the world could watch and join in, submitting their final paintings to Instagram for the judges to view and select their top 3 each week. There ended up being 3 series of the program coinciding with each lockdown period over 2020-21. I was inspired to join in by some of my painting friends and was thrilled when my painting of Samira Ahmed was shortlisted by the judges one week! The conversations between the artist and the sitter were always very interesting and the four hours flew by. It was a lovely community to have whilst being in isolation. Many of the sitters work in the entertainment industry, which has been very badly hit by the pandemic, so I’m offering these paintings in exchange for a donation to the Theatre Artists Fund, a charity providing emergency support to theatre workers and freelancers across the UK during the pandemic. Just email me with an offer! All paintings are 12”x12” and oil.
